UPHOLD – Urban Promise’s Heroes of Living Dreams

At UPT, parents are heroes. UPHOLD is a community that encourages and empowers parents through advocacy, support groups, resource connections and special events.

Where we work

UPT works in 4 sites across the city:

  • SITE - COMMUNITY - LOCATION
  • North - Parkwoods Donald - Warden/St. Clair
  • South - South Alexandra Park - Bathurst / Queen
  • West - North Etobicoke - Finch/Kipling
  • East - Warden Woods - Warden/St. Clair

Programs

Moms Support Group UPT recognizes that moms need support and encouragement! The Moms Support Group runs weekly and creates an open forum for mothers from different communities to connect and share. Its focus is on building supportive relationships, life skills, and encouraging self-awareness and development. The program provides guest speakers and workshops on parenting and life skills training.

Bible Study

Bible Studies are opportunities for interested parents to learn more about the Bible and is a place where supportive prayer and discussion is available.

Home Visits

Family workers discover the real needs of families during home visits. The focus of this program is to build personal support to families with special needs as well as provide close encouragement and care.

Resource support

While there are many useful resources and organizations in our city, it can be a rather daunting task to find which ones can help. UPT Resource support is a helping hand that connects families with local community groups and agencies.

Special Events

Parents need to have fun too! Special events throughout the year help parents maintain a positive outlook on life. Different events include an annual retreat away from the city, Mother’s day banquet, Christmas dinners, and summer BBQs.
